This countertop compost bin is perfect! I looked at numerous models and read lots of reviews. I finally chose this one. The selling point was the entirely enclosed lid. There's are no holes for circulation and pesky fruit flys or odors. The top is very snug. I got this food scrap bin because the garbage trucks were going to begin picking food scraps up every other week, along with our yard debris. I was leary about having it on the counter since I haven't been successful at composting in the past. This, however, made it so easy. It's easy to clean, absolutely no smell, and holds quite a bit. I'm so glad that I took the time to read up on the different kinds and then decided that my priority was simple and Bug-free. If that's what you're after then you might try this one.

We've been home composting for years now, and it's such a pain to run kitchen scraps out to the compost bin. We used to collect them throughout the day in a bowl, which is unsightly and, if/when we forget and leave them overnight, we end up with icky smells, fruit flies, or both! I've been looking for solutions for years, but have only found either ugly plastic containers that have the ability to filter, or pretty containers that are nothing but ceramic or metal jars. This one provides the best of both worlds - it looks at home on my countertop, but keeps the smells and pests away!My only complaint is that the filters aren't super easy to remove, clean and replace. Don't get me wrong - it's not difficult, but it does take some patience. However, it's a small price to pay for washable and reusable filters you don't need to replace! (THANK YOU to the manufacturer for not succumbing to the razor blade model forcing consumers to buy and store expensive filter replacements!)

I leave it sitting on my counter where I cut up vegetables so I can easily and quickly dispose of the unusable parts of the vegetables and fruit. It holds quite a bit and I empty it out usually each week. No odor when I lift the lid off to add more garbage. Easy to clean. The filters in the lids are supposed to last for a long time and do not need to be cleaned each time you clean the container, as long as the garbage has not touched the filter itself.

It is a larger countertop compost pail, but I like that it does not have a hole in the top. A couple of times it has got to smelling pretty bad in the pail before we dumped it, but no smell escaped the pail. The lid is nice and the filter seems to work. As quickly as we fill it up, it is nice to have the larger size. Also, it is easy to clean.

I am very happy with this compost pail. I have ants in the the summer so I am glad it has no holes in the lid. Also, the lid fits snugly and smoothly enough that I think the ants won't be able to get in around the edge of the lid. I am happy that it is larger than I expected. Some friends have stainless steel pails and they didn't hold much. This is a good size. Not so big things will get too rotten, but not so small it needs frequent emptying. The only negative thing I would say about it is that when empty the handle does not provide a very good balance for the pail. But that isn't important.Addendum: I didn't like the graphics on the pail, but they sanded off pretty easily.

I had to replace the container I was using to hold my kitchen scraps before they went into the compost bin. I love this one! It looks nice on the counter, is easy to fill since the top is removable, keeps odors inside due to the charcoal filter and the solid closure of the top, and is easy to carry outside.

We were using just an open container to put our compostable scraps in until we could bring them out to the larger bucket outside. Sometimes there was an odor which I didn't like so I decided to get a compost container. This container is perfect! It is big enough to hold a few days worth of scraps (I guess it would depend upon how much veggies and fruit you use), and there is NO ODOR! The charcoal pads are easy enough to get in and out of it to wash. I'm really glad we purchased it!

It took a little bit of searching to find this hole-free counter compost bin. I love it! The stainless is great, the handle is great, the charcoal filters are helpful, and they even threw in some neat gloves. The size is just right for me. Not too big, but not too small. It is well made, the cover tolerances are tight enough that I don't think fruit-flies will be a problem. It is winter where I live at the moment, so I wont know for a while. But I don't see any reason that I would be disappointed.

I love this bin. I have a smaller one for coffee grinds but this one is great for kitchen scraps and is quite retro and cute to keep on the counter. Thanks for the quick shipping.
