This review is about the Jackery Portable Power Station HLS290. This Power Station comes nicely packaged, and includes an AC adapter to charge the battery as well as a Car charging cable. It supports 110v AC devices with a US style AC plug, two 5v USB A devices, and a cigarette lighter style plug for 12V charging as well. The battery came with zero charge, so I plugged it in using the supplied AC adapter to charge it up. The included manual suggests that this would take about 7 hrs, but in my experience it took approximately 8 hrs to get to a full charge (still pretty good for such a large capacity battery). Note – the AC adapter got pretty warm during the charging process, but never too hot to touch – this is probably normal. My interest in this battery is to power devices where it is not practical to connect to AC power. For example, charging a laptop by plugging the laptop charger into the AC port, or running a small guitar amplifier through the AC port. It will also great for charging mobile phones / tablets via the USB ports.First, let me say that this battery doesn’t quickly lose it’s charge when it sits around. I left it unused for 2 weeks, and it still showed 100% charge – awesome! Then, I hooked it up to a laptop that had 85% charge to top it off. After a short while, the laptop was at 100% charge, and the Jackery battery was still at 92%. Double awesome! This battery will be a life saver – it’s another great product from a great company. Two thumbs up!

I bought this for dry camping & also hurricane season I use a cpap machine and this ran my cpap machine for 15 hours (2 nights), I don't use the humidifier. Looking at solar panels for it instead of charging it on my 12v. Lightweight and easy to use.

Just upgraded to the Jackery 290 power generator & SolarSaga 60W Solar Panel for multiple night's CPAP camping. Perfectly happy with their portability and functionality. Previously lugged around a heavy 12V, AGM, 35AH battery for 2.5 night's power for camping. My opinion/observations: Most if not all CPAP units are actually DC, requiring either 12V or 24V. Consequently, a direct DC connection to the power station is the way to go. This provides a dramatic efficiency increase over using the unit's AC output. A mobile DC power cord is required to use the power station's DC outlet and is specific for a particular CPAP unit. (Seems as if many reporting lower specs for CPAP use are using the unit's AC outlet). The Jackery 240/290 w/ SolarSaga 60W Solar Panel is a winning combo for my camping adventures.

My HLS 290 allows me to extend field operations with my Ham Radio.I activate my station from local parks and need to extend operation time while powering the Radio, Computer and IPad. the HLS 290 lets me do this with one not 3 different chargers.Easy to carry and extended power makes for Amateur Radio fun and easy setup.image1.jpeg

This battery is overall the best gas generator replacement out there. With this battery, I was able to power almost anything I needed, anywhere. Through this battery, I have run my TV, my mini fridge, my heated blanket, my phone, my laptop, my speakers, my fan, and even my gaming desktop computer with double monitors.I personally have this mainly for storms when the power gets knocked out. About a week after I received it, we had a big storm that knocked the power out for about 2.5 hours. I was able to continue watching the news about the storm on TV (after switching power cords over) using the battery to power the TV and my phone to keep my phone charged with my hotspot.I used this device while camping, at a tailgate for speakers, during a storm, and even when my car broke down.My personal time estimates with devices:Samsung 42 inch TV - 3.5 hoursMini fridge - 6 hoursHeated blanket - 8+ hours on max (auto shutoff kicked in on blanket)iPhone X - 30 recharges (from about 10-20%)HP Envy Spectre 360 - 2.5 chargesGaming desktop with dual monitors - 1 hour (very impractical for this use)Box fan - 10+ hours

The new Jackery Honda 290 Power Station is a sharp looking compact device that enables us to have power while outside or in an outage. With the available solar panels, it would be even better (yes, I'd definitely like to have those eventually)! They are listed as taking just a bit longer to charge the device than simply plugging it in at home. You can also charge it in your car. The solar panels would be the optimal way to utilize this Power Station and it could then charge additional smaller Jackery power banks, too. It's much larger than our usual Jackery devices that we carry regularly, but it's still lightweight considering how many charges it can hold (about six pounds). My son's laptop was down to 56% when we plugged it in. The Power Station charged silently for the first five-ten minutes. It made a quiet noise for another five minutes. Now, it's silent again. His laptop is up to 74% in under 15 minutes. The Jackery is still at 93%. It's very efficient. It alternates between totally silent and a quiet hum. So, now, Jackery at 82%, his laptop is fully charged. That's pretty impressive and really useful.I highly recommend Jackery devices, in general. This Honda 290 Power Station is great for many charges, quiet and safe. With hurricane season just around the corner, this should be high on your list of backup/emergency resources, and it's also ruggedly built for camping or other outdoor activities. While we do have a gas generator for the household, this Jackery Honda 290 Power Station is much better for charging our valuable electronic devices. Consider getting yours for both emergency and outdoor use. I really like mine (though I'm still not ready to go camping)!
