I am picky with my reusable straws. I want something compact that can easily fit in a small bag or pocket, meaning most reusable straws are out (straight metal, bamboo, glass, plastic, etc.). Most of the "compact' straws are silicone straws. While I prefer the mouthfeel of silicone, I don't like how floppy it can be in the drink as I really like being able to stir my drink. This straw is the best of all worlds. Metal base means I can stir my drink, silicone tip means I have a better mouthfeel, and it comes apart into two making it a fairly compact option. I can see why these are so highly recommended. Great straws.

These straws have the best combination of features of the three sets of reusable straws I purchased. The soft tips have a nice mouth feel, I don't have to worry about breaking one if I drop it (like glass straws), the size and bent shape are just right, the color options are visually attractive, and good if multiple family members are using, and I can leave it in my drink all day without it swelling or discoloring (like my bamboo straws). If stainless steel was clear, these would be perfect, so I'd always know they are clean, but the cleaning tool is great and this is a small tradeoff for the other features. These definitely get used the most!

I bought these because my city of a million outlawed the use of plastic straws - for environmental reasons (they don't decompose readily...). So stores/restaurants that usually supplied plastic straws began using paper straws. UGH! I tried the paper straws they used and they are disgusting to feel in one's mouth! I wrap these in a paper towel and put them in my purse. For cleaning, I like that I can remove the silicone (not plastic) tips and clean them separately. The stainless straws I put in the dishwasher cutlery section. Problem solved!

the silicone mouth tips are a nice touch. i have another brand of steel straw but the feel of a metal straw rubbing against your teeth is un-nerving. if you drink coffee or anything sweet thru them just take a swig of water thru it before storing to make cleaning later much easier.i honestly think in a few years we will all be expected to bring our own utensils and straws wherever we go. after burningman it actually becomes a comfort to use your own gear rather than the questionable stuff at the restaurant. even without the environmental aspect, at least i know it wasn't handled or touched by someone with bad hygiene. watch the fork jar at your local restaurant & see how many people touch them & put them back. yuck! i'd much rather carry & eat from my own utensils now.

Love these metal straws. My 4.5 year old son really loves drinking out of straws. But obvisouly regular straws are NOT environmentally safe. So I found this alternative. After looking at a ton of options I decided on these because of the colored silicon tops (I don’t put these in the dishwasher but wash by hand - you can however put in the dishwasher). He loves drinking out of these straws and has no issues with the size. These straws are bigger than a normal sized straw but smaller than as smoothie straw. I use them as well to drink my cold-pressed juice and love.Because I wash by hand, I love that the silicon tops can come off to ensure they get sterilized properly. Highly recommend! Anyone who is on the fence get these! I should also say we’re big fans of Klein Kanteen company and their products.

I use a straw in an insulated cup to drink hot coffee and tea. Didn't like the idea of a full stainless steel straw ("gonna poke your eye out") but silicone straws stained terribly. The little silicone caps that fit on regular stainless straws just didn't cut it. These straws are perfect -- stainless bottom is, well, stainless. And the long silicone top is soft and flexible where I need it. Buy these!

Bought others, diameter was too small though they had silicone over metal covered tips. The seller wanted me to pay MORE THAN HALF of what their straws cost to return. I had been given one of these Kleen Kanteen straws from a friend. MUCH larger diameter & very easy to clean! The silicone tip comes off for cleaning and is not RIGID like the silicone over metal. ONE will last FOREVER, but I needed different colors to coordinate with different tumblers! NOW I'M SET! Wish they came in more colors.

Okay, so I ended up buying into the "save a turtle don't use straws" bleating that's been going on out there for years, and so bought this set since they are relatively inexpensive and hey, they're straws, what could go wrong? The silicone tips do make the drinking experience better - they are easy to grip with your teeth in case such is required. I haven't drunk any milkshakes through them, but I juice every morning with a Vitamix (meaning the pulp is stil in there) and i have no issues using one of these straws there. The fact they are dishwasher safe makes it all the nicer. My biggest problem is that I sometimes forget to take one with me - without a case of sorts I simply wrap one in a paper towel and put that in a plastic bag until I reach a restaurant - though I will say most servers nowadays are happily surprised that I bring my own straw. I found a collapsable straw on Kickstarter a while back and ordered one (due in a month or two) - that one being pocketable will eliminate my forgetfulness problem - but until then I do my best to keep using these.

I was nervous to purchase the straws because several reviews said the cleaning brush didn't work. I am happy to report that mine works great, fits inside the straw with no problem, and has already held up to many washings over a few weeks time. The straws themselves are also great. We had no idea how often our family of four reached for plastic straws until we purchased these. So much better to purchase the product from a company that truly cares for and supports the environment as well. I've never gone wrong with a klean kanteen product, despite the entrance of new trendy overpriced stainless steel drinkware companies and other copycat companies who try to copy the product at a cheaper price.

These are just right. I have been trying to find a "perfect" reusable straw with little luck. The aluminum ones leave a funny taste. The stainless are really hard and I poke myself. The silicone are hard to clean. This one got it just right with the best of all worlds. Stability in its stainless steel body. Silicone mouth piece at an angle keeps me from hurting myself. Not too long and not too short. Really perfect!

I really love using a straw but hate the waste and plastic. These are great! The silicone end is perfect. I was always afraid of chipping my tooth with a plain stainless steel straw. I use them with my toddler as well and they fit inside my Klean Kanteen liter bottle. My only complaint is that the scrub brush is impossible to use because it is too thick!! ! I came up with a solution though - I trimmed the hairs a bit and now it fits inside the straw and silicone ends and I can clean the straws properly.

Love these! Use them with my toddler especially - for smoothies. Won't hurt her teeth. She likes them. Plus they curve over. That's great. Tho, curve too much and stops stuff from going thru. The cleaner is really nice............I just haven't been able to get it thru them -- too wide.

Ok I'm a sucker for stainless steel tumbler. The stain steel straw was cool but absolutely dangerous. Now with the rubber tip. It is PERFECT! Changing my drinking experience with a chewy and safe straw. I drink 4X more water just because of this straw. :)
