This is a great buy. If you compare shop, you will find that tape can be expensive, especially name-brand tape. Here, you get the tape dispenser along with the extra tape. It's a win-win. The price was great! I would buy this again.

This is the basic and ubiquitous C 38 tape dispenser that I have on my desk today and have used for probably two decades at least. The labeling on the bottom of the dispenser says simply 'Scotch', 'C 38', 'Made in France', and '3M'.I don't know if this product continues to be made in France or elsewhere, or if Scotch has shifted their production to China as seems to be happening with everything these days. That doesn't necessarily mean that the quality is any lower, if Scotch has been diligent in managing the quality of their production.My preference for this particular dispenser is probably as much familiarity as anything, but the heavy weight of it is also a big part of why I like it. It stays put on the desk, it can be used as a paper weight when needed, and if you want to simply reach across and pull a length of tape from it, the weight of the dispenser helps to hold it in place.The one I am using is as good as new even after many years of use. And I have no reason to change now.
