As the title states, it gets the job done and is enjoyable. I have taken it around the neighborhood several times. It’s a real head turner and racks up smiles per gallon quickly.Ringing the bell at non-scootering pedestrians while staring directly into their eyes is very satisfying. I like to think that it expresses dominance and superiority.Despite its comparative large size when considering the earlier models, it does fit in the trunk of my Kia Stinger without any problems.
Ive owned the M365 for awhile now and I love it! I just needed more range and thats where the max comes in. This thing is a tank, very very well made and very sturdy, you can tell this thing will last awhile. The light is very bright, the display is bright and clear and the 10" tires drastically improve ride comfort. The charge time is exceptional even though the battery is huge. I highly recommend.
Pros:- Much more stable than the Segway ES 2,3,&4 because the battery is in the base instead of in the vertical stem.- It has a battery capacity of 551Wh, almost triple the mileage on the Segway ES2.- My top speed @185 lbs. is 18 mph.- The mechanical and electrical brakes are much safer than my ES2.- Front and rear wheel shock absorbers are a plus.- I like the self-healing pneumatic tires which mean less flats.- Also the tires are 10 inches tall which make hitting a small pothole less dangerous than when I ride into the same hole with my current 7 inch tires. The 3 additional inches makes a BIG difference.- The built-in charger is a great idea. My ES2 uses a small brick that I had to carry around i backpack.- It just takes one-step to fold-up.Cons:- I can forget about carrying this up and down the subway stairs in NYC. It’s 41 pounds in a not so easy to hold configuration.- Realistic range is just 35 miles, because you’re not supposed to ride it when the battery is less than 5%.
I bought this after researching a few of the other Segway models. My daily commute is about 2 miles each way in the streets of downtown Chicago. Mine currently has a little over 50 miles on it. I chose this model for the following reasons, over the other models:1. Back wheel drive appealed to me2. Air filled tires seemed better than solid rubber3. The big battery and faster charging4. The overall build quality seemed higher than the other ones, which some might perceive as flimsyPros:It's fast.. reaches the advertised 18.6 mphPlatform standing area is nice and wideRide is smooth and stableBraking ability is great, and if you set the battery recovery to high, it basically stops for you with minimal brake inputHeadlight is super brightEasy to charge with the integrated charger. You just carry a small cable with you if you anticipate needing a charge. As expected, build quality is very solid. Impressed with it overall.Cons:Heavy. I carry this on the train with me, and through the train station. 42lbs isn't horrible, but it's not light.Bulky. Not always easy to walk through a train with it, even when folded. You become a very bulky clumsy person carrying a large heavy scooter through a small space or crowd.Speed: While it does reach the advertised 18.6mph, as soon as battery life drops below 90%, the speed starts to decline. I've never reached under 50% charge, but at that battery level, max speed is 16mph. Not horrible, but would be nice to stay at the 18.6 mph (I'd sacrifice battery life for a constant faster speed). The app is pretty terrible. Hard to use, not a lot of valuable featuresI still rate it 5 stars because none of the cons were unexpected.
