GIGANTIC BAG OF COCONUT YAAAASSSI cannot be the only person in the whole world who absolutely loves getting gigantic bulk bags of food lol. There is something so fun about it!I have tried a few things from this company before, and have been impressed each time. They fill the bag UP completely. I hate getting something with all kinds of excess product, and they do not seem to do that with this brand ever.I got the flakes so that I could have the versatility of either keeping them as flakes, shredded them in the blender, and then of course for making coconut butter and coconut milk and coconut flour ;) I am quite crafty like that. I made coconut milk (on the left in the picture, the right is almond milk) and it was reallllly delicious. Definitely better than store bought. I then dried the pulp out over a day or so on a sheet and will be using it for coconut flour and/or adding to recipes for some coconut crunch and flavor.

I spent a (for me, anyway) long time trying to track down the kind of coconut I wanted. I checked several different grocery stores, which is no small feat these days as I'm living without a car, but all anyone seems to carry in-store is shredded, sweetened and unsweetened.See, what I really wanted was flaked, unsweetened coconut, and I didn't want to buy three or four pounds' worth from the products that popped up in response to that search term. I believe I found these particular coconut chips in the "relateds", and decided I'd take a look.It seems funny to me now that what really cemented my decision to buy this product was the review that mentions that these are not snacking chips, but rather baking flakes! This was exactly what I wanted. I was so pleased when the box showed up on my doorstep containing a bag of thin, broad flakes; I had been nervous that the "chips" might be larger than I was hoping, but I do think "flaked coconut" would be a more accurate term for this product. You can eat them straight out of the bag, and they do taste nice - refreshing in a way that only coconut seems to be! - but the texture breaks down quickly and you're left with chewy coconut that you've already leached the taste from. This doesn't bother me, but might bother some. I bought them for use in a muesli recipe, and spread a cup or so thinly on a baking sheet and toasted at 350F for five or seven minutes. I think if you're looking for snacking chips, this would be the way to eat them: they take on a lovely new dimension of flavor and the texture is far closer to a chip.Perfect for my application, and exactly what I was looking for!I will almost certainly buy more of these when I run out.

Great quality! Hubby loves these on top of his cereal for some extra crunch and flavor. Nice size chips!

As you can see I'm running low so I came here to repurchase this item and decided to leave a review. This unsweetened coconut shreds are the perfect size and texture for toasting especially for cereals or adding to pudding and or fudge. Those are my main uses other then just grabbing a pinch here and there for a quick snack. They toast quickly and my latest batch were in the oven for only 1-2 minutes too long so keep your eye on them if you plan on toasting (5-7 min total on 350F). They come in at 2 net carbs so they are definitely keto friendly and the serving size is a realistic size at 28 grams. Perfect amount for a late night snack or a quick breakfast. Now I have a shredded coconut and it has its place in my pantry but I use these more often because i find these easier to work with and they have more of an authentic coconut taste. Also another plus is the bag they come in. It has a very durable feel and the seal actually seals. I will be keeping the bag for other uses and I think that should definitely should be mentioned in the review because it shows that the company isn't cutting corners.

Excellent coconut! Big chips, I sometimes must chop them.smaller for my cookie recipes. They freeze well, I wrap them.In multiple layers of zip bags but they don't stay in the freezer long. For most recipes they must be moistened up first by sprinkling water on them in a bowl and covering it and letting it sit. I also do this when I put them in yogurt and they are chewy...delish! Planning on ordering again.

These are great, fresh unsweetened coconut flakes. They are thick and much larger than found in local stores. For a salad topping or snacking out of hand, bake in the oven until toasty; that brings a a more distinct coconut flavor.I use them in my homemade granola and they taste wonderful. Divide this big bag into individual servings in airtight containers (I use my FoodSaver) and store them in your freezer. They'll should stay fresh for a year - mine stayed fresh for the 7 months it took to use up the last order. You can also grind these down to make your own coconut flour. I also bet if you soaked and blended these, they'd make a great coconut milk. Then dry out the strained bits and grind into flour.
