I recommend this carrier. I also have a Lille Baby 6-in-1 carrier, but getting an infant with no head and neck control into that thing is not easy. So, I wanted a wrap or ring sling. I am 5'3" and the wraps just had so much fabric it was a lot to handle. This ring sling is very nice quality and is cooler to wear than the padded Lille Carrier (which will probably be best once my son is larger and older). To use a ring sling correctly is a little more difficult than just putting it on. Where the ring goes, how to thread the fabric through the rings so they will adjust correctly, and how to insure your child is safe are all 'easy' but not intuitive - so i recommend youtube videos by any ring sling manufacturer (they all work the same way). These will show you how to adjust and different ways to carry the child. It took about 3-4 times in front of a mirror to get it right. But, all carriers and wraps take practice. I highly recommend this carrier. My son falls asleep within minutes of being put in the carrier against me. This is great for running to walgreens or grocery store and not getting out that heavy car seat carrier or the stroller, or trying to get him into my Lille carrier in the parking lot. Again, for toddlers you may want a back pack style carrier (even though this sling says up to 35 lbs). But for newborns and small babies this is great. I am wearing him as I type this.
I've learned how to do lots of carry styles in this carrier and I love it!! This one works best for me for breastfeeding my infant and having hands free (compared to my Lillebaby all seasons and Moby, which are also great carriers, but less easy to breastfeed in). It makes a nice kangaroo pouch. If you get this one or another ring sling, look into the different carrying styles and tips and tricks for adjusting it, because those make all the difference. Ring slings are a little less easy to do skin to skin, which really calms our baby down when she gets fussy in the evenings, so for me I need a Moby wrap and this one, and the Lillebaby carrier for going out. Plus our baby gets tired of being in one carrier for over a couple hours. But all in all, it's true for us what they say about less crying when you do the baby wearing for good portion of the day. Our 1-month old baby is much happier!! (And then she sleeps better at night, in her bassinet) It's worth it!!
I always wore my babies so as I started to get more baby nieces and nephews I made sure I had something to wear them in the house. I've been using weekly ever since. The true saving grace of this sling for me was when the babies mamas went back to work and I needed to train these little guys to be ok taking a bottle. It went super smooth. They got the comfort of a firm swaddle and barely fussed the 1st time and not at all in all the times after. A night and day experience without the sling.
I'm giving this a great review because, even though it didn't work for us, it was worth the try. I bought it for a trip so I could carry my 3 month old easily through airports. The problem I had was that my little one tries to straighten his legs a lot, and to stay secure in this thing, he has to keep his knees up in a sitting position. But when he gets antsy, he stands and nearly falls through. When he is seated and content, this is a stylish alternative to other cloth carriers, and it folds up easily to be stuffed in a bag. It's also really easy to put on and to put baby into.
My daughter is 6 months old and this is the first ring sling we have used, so I do not have much to compare it to. We had been using a Lillebaby carrier for the past few months and lately she does not seem happy in it as she would rather be carried on my hip than completely facing backwards where she can't see anything. I ordered the sling mainly for a wedding we were attending the night that it came in the mail. It was especially convenient during the reception as my daughter was so comfy and I was able to get food, drinks, walk around, etc. all while keeping her with me. It is also much better looking than an ergo-type carrier and multiple of people said it looked like a cute scarf and mentioned how cozy and content she looked it in. It did take a little bit to get situated the first time but after watching a few YouTube videos we figured it out. She has pretty much been in it ever since we received it. We used it hiking yesterday and it was perfect for keeping her close and also covered so mosquitoes couldn't get to her. Since it is summertime and I don't like to put bug spray on her, I pretty much keep her in the sling anytime we are outside of an evening to keep bugs off of her. Even when we are just swinging on the porch or sitting down, I loosen it so that she can sit on my lap and still be wrapped up. I purchased the honeycomb texture wrap so it is a bit harder to tighten than I imagine the other ones would be due to the texture being slightly bumpy when pulling through the rings. After washing and drying it once, it's so soft and cozy but also lightweight and not too hot. I will most likely purchase at least one more. We love it!!
Perfect! So many people forget appropriate boundaries when a baby is around, and want to touch baby without asking or thinking about spreading germs. Baby fits in this sling snugly, and I am able to keep her away from germy people. It also frees up my hands so that I can still be hands-on with my toddler, make myself a plate of food, etc. Definitely recommend!
