I always buy these plates for pizza parties, kids birthdays, etc. etc... nice to know that they a green & made out of recycled materials. It's always good to be eco-friendly.
Will be my new go-to plates for entertaining
Been using for years
Sturdy & Durable for a fair price
I purchase these monthly in my subscribe and save box for years and still very happy with the plates! These are tough plates! I have not had them buckle during my daily Woman vs Food competition and that says a lot! The plates will sometimes sweat, so keep than in mind if you are eating at a wood table. Not an issue for me because I am in a daily food competition since my sons only want food off of my plate.
They were perfect sized, didn't absorb any oil, didn't get soggy and gross like standard paper plates. I love these so much!! They would be perfect for camping, parties, making that first week baby is home less stressful, they are just great!
These plates look much better than your average disposable plates and truly holds up! We didn’t serve any foods that contained liquids or much grease but for what we did have, these plates work great! Also, you can’t go wrong when your trying to do better for the earth.
Nice plates and fast delivery
We had a "green" outdoor graduation party and these plates were perfect. They were very sturdy and we had no problem with plates "leaking" or warping, and we did have a lot of "wet" type foods. I had some left over and have used them in the microwave for 2 minutes with no problem. I am glad i purchased these compostable plates. They live up to the hype.
Great paper plates. Not so small that your meal will not fit on the plate. Was not sure if my trash company would take these as completely compostable so need to throw them out in the trash instead. I will call my trash company and find out their opinion on compostable or not here in Oregon.
As promised you can hold a lot of food on these no leaking. I guess you could make it look nicer with some cheap paper plate carriers. For entertaining picnics graduation there a beat out from foam. Little pricey but worth the value
I like that they’re sturdy, can handle hot food, and are unbleached so I don’t have any weird chemicals leaching into my food
Worth the extra money for strong plates that are sustainable
I love these plates. They worked out great. Perfect size too.
We bought it for a party in November. The quality is great. It's 100% compostable.
The matched our theme much better than the basic white would. I was afraid they would look cheap but the didn't at all. They were perfect and functional plus environmentally friendly. I would definitely order again
Best Bargain I know that they have been on sale and they are a poo brown, which makes one dought their durability and strength but they are great plates. I myself was at first hesitant, but at their sale price and a house full of kids I decided to go for it. All you have to do is get past the color and when I am saving money, that is easily done. So enjoy your brown plates. ;)Barbi j
I've been buying these for about a year now as a graduate student who is trying to save every possible minute of time. Since these are disposable, I feel far less guilty about going through them in exchange for significantly less dishes to do. They are much sturdier than the average paper plate and just the right size.
We wanted compostable plates to use for a housewarming party. These paper plates turned out to be much sturdier than I expected! I was very happy with the amount of food/weight it was able to hold without breaking. Felt good to be able to put all our plates into the compost bin rather than a landfill:)
I liked these because they were really sturdy and didn’t fall apart with wet food sitting on them.
good plates, strong, good size, oily wet food does Not pass through plate..I recommend them..
I bought these for a huge family reunion bc I couldn't stand the thought of all the waste we would produce. I was worried that they wouldn't hold up but they were perfect! I actually had a separate trash bag for all the compostable cups, plates and bowls and added it to my compost later. I was so happy to be providing the things we needed while at the same time being able to use it for sustainable purposes. I will be buying these from now on! Even if I don't compost them, I like knowing they will break down instead of add to our insurmountable waste in this country!
I am pleasantly surprised! These are really strong! Keep in mind, 9” plates aren’t the large dinner size. Good for maybe a smaller dinner but they work great!
Bought several packs for a huge party. The plates are easy to hold in one hand. They’re strong, don’t get soggy, and don’t droop. Great for heavy, sloppy food - even better than plastic plates. And I don’t think they would melt like plastic. Definitely will use again.
I'm on a mission to save the planet by using less plastic. If you have any awareness of what's going on in the world, the use of plastic straws, plastic plates, plastic bags, plastic utensils, plastic rings for soda, plastic cups, plastic bottles, and plastic everything that never degrades and is slowly killing the world's sea mammals. So, I decided to try these plates. There are some made out of palm leaves which are great. These are made of wheat straw fiber which according to the website is a recycled leftover product and has no environmental impact. They are great. They don't absorb water. You can use him for just about every meal or dish you can imagine. Sturdy, lightweight, and you will help save the planet one plate at a time.
These hold up well, just like plastic plates, but they are biodegradable, which I love. Large size, good quality for the price.
Having used alternative plates such as these during a recent hotel stay, I found myself wanting to add them to my home. I find these plates a nice change from waxy, flimsy paper plates. Not only are they sturdier but I feel better knowing these are better for the landfill.Note: I also purchased 6” plates which I’ve found to be excellent products as well.
Worked great for our taco bar. Withstood the queso sitting on there without getting weak or useless. Great quality and size for our needs. Would buy again.
Very nice size plates and quite strong for every day use. Really liked that no trees had to be sacrificed for this quality product.
Great healthy product! Won't melt in the microwave or give off chemicals. I've heard that sawdust is carcinogenic and just think it comes from wood. Paper is made from wood and if you ever use napkins, toilet paper or paper plates you can see fine particles come off of it every time you use it. That's not good and you'll ingest residual amounts of it, especially since your hands are always touching paper. Paper plates are lined with plastic which is not good either. I'd rather have food get stuck to this plate and be healthy than have a slippery plastic layer. I also recommend getting "tree free" bamboo based toilet paper, don't wanna get colon cancer...
When these arrived, I thought they were thin. I opened the pack and used the first one for a dinner of fried white fish, Mac and cheese and a Caesar salad. It held up! These are pretty strong and I actually love the color. You really only need one per meal and won't have to double up! I will probably get the other items they make like bowls and cups.5 stars
Very cheap, environmentally conscious bowls that are excellent for large gatherings and cookouts. Can go right into a camp fire and they hold up even to soup
MUST BUY products2 protect EARTH, compostable, eco friendly, ORGANIC PLANT BASED #1for mne&&if a company donates2 nonprofit I ALWAYS choose them first,
I have been using this brand of "paper" plate for years for camping. Made from the leftovers of sugarcane, an easily renewable source, they hold up well and do not leak. Once done, you can throw them away without worry, compost them, or do what I do, and burn them in the campfire.
Bought these, the 6" plates, and the bowls for easy and ecological clean-up for a wedding reception, and I decided to test them out today. I made the soggiest food I could think of to test the dishes, and the wooden cutlery I also got. Keep in mind, the knife in the cutlery set is fairly dull. The 9" plate held up really well to the pork chop and beets. Juices soaked into the plate, but not through. When I was done with the food, I took the knife and sawed really hard on the wet spots. It took 73 passes to get through the soaked plate. I could load it up and still hold it with one hand. The bowl needed two hands when full to the brim with soup, but if the bottom is supported and it's not too full one hand is doable. Soup soaked in, but not through. Used the knife on the bowl, and made 100 passes before giving up.6" plates are sturdy and hold lots of dessert :-)
fairly priced...arrived as promised..will buy again and again...love the product..natural, chlorine free...saves from diong dishes :)~..yes lazy me when we have a big gang of kids over.
I bought these for my daughter's BBQ-themed baby shower. I thought they would be cute because they matched the checkered tan and white tablecloths and burlap table runners, but they ended up being a hit at the party because they're eco-friendly. I matched them up with tree-free cutlery which I wrapped in napkins tied with yellow twine. Those were an even bigger hit. I just wish I had looked for tree free napkins to wrap them with. The plates are super strong and did not leak onto the table clothes. My family uses paper plates on a regular basis so that we don't have dishes to do (broken dishwasher) so I'm thinking about getting a monthly subscription. Planning this party has awaken something inside of me making me want to become as eco-friendly as possible. It feels good!
Plates held up to liquid, meat juices, and grease. Cutting on the plate did not damage them or create fibers that got mixed into the food. Used them while camping and they burned cleanly served as a great fire starter for our campfire.
Have ordered these a few times now; they hold up well even with heavy/"wet" food. Would like to start a subscription but then the shipping arrival date was too far out; not sure why it also wasn't "next day" like a one time order. Any way, I do recommend the plates!
These plates were much stronger than I had anticipated. They held up well and did not bled through, bend or break. We had BBQ pork and baked beans which are wet and still worked really well.
VERY sturdy plates! These plates will hold up to whatever you need them to! They are just as sturdy as the name brand ones you find in the big box stores and Eco-Friendly, too! I've used them a few times and been pleased each time!
After seeing the quality of the smaller plates I bought for feeding my cats, I bought these for the family. We don't use disposable plates that often, but the idea of something unbleached and renewable makes me feel better about when we do.Very pretty as well.
My elderly grandparents recently moved in with me due to their advanced age and medical needs. My grandfather in particular can no longer hold onto heavy or slick surfaces such as those found on porcelain, ceramic or even plastic dishes. This has resulted in many dropped and dangerously shattered dishes. Traditional paper, foam and plastic plates are light enough for him to hold but too flimsy to safely and securely hold his food. After trying numerous alternatives, I found these, and they are the answer to my prayers! Though they don't weigh much, they are definitely heavy-duty; he can pile on as much food as he wants, microwave them without any worries about heat or failure due to wetness, and he can carry them with confidence anywhere. Often, we're even able to rinse them off and reuse them for more than a single use! Adding such sturdiness to the fact that this brand is chemical-free and environmentally responsible, Earth's Natural Alternative now has me happily sold on their entire line of products - plates, bowls and all. I could not be more satisfied.
Really well-priced, more "green" alternative for paper plates. My kids ate cereal in them on a recent ski trip and there was no seepage ever, even if we forgot to clear the table fast and milk sat in them for hours. Very pleased. Are they pretty...nope. But they are what you expect from a recycled dinnerware. We gave our table some color with other brands of cups and napkins.
Way stronger than paper plates but a little softer than plastic plates. This is a nice medium especially if you plan on microwaving. I'm always nervous microwaving plastic and hate how flimsy paper plates are so this is a perfect compromise. I like to keep disposable plates around in case a random bbq takes place and these hold up very well. I will definitely keep purchasing these.
