This is a great size. Fits on my counter. Comes with an extra charcoal filter. Easy to slide the inner bucket in and out.

Love this for storing kitchen compost until we take it to the outdoor compost bin. Love that there's a separate inside bucket. Inside and outside buckets both clean easily. I'm still using the first charcoal filter (I've been using it for about a month). I purposely wanted a bin that's a little larger, so this one is perfect. I never intended on putting it on my kitchen counter; I think it's too big for that. Keep that in mind when considering this product.

Excellent Value, Use Vinegar in Plastic InnerBucket, No Smells, No Fruit Flies , Just great process of family food scraps ( no meat or bones) ultimately placed in 30 gallon spinner compost bucket. We add 4-5 shovels of leaves, grass clippings, sand and pine needles. We also add @ a quart of H2O on days wemow to keep compost moist and happy. Bigday is when we add coffee grinds for microworking critters...Spin, Spin, Spin...

As described, looks clean and so far no issues with odor. Internal bucket removes easily for adding to your composter or pile. Lid lifts off easily so no struggling while holding a bunch of runny eggshells or veggie matter. Solid metal outside so it has some weight to it and doesn't feel cheap or thin like it will fall apart over time. Lid has a spot for a charcoal pad to absorb odor - when washing just have to be careful to remove it so it doesn't get wet and create mildew, but I usually just clean the internal bucket to avoid this issue altogether. All around pretty great!

This kitchen compost bin is perfect or our needs. We have purchased several compost bins before and found them lacking. The paint chipped and pealed and the bottoms developed ting holes and leaked. This compost bin has a heavy duty plastic liner which you empty. The lid opens easier doesn't stick. It looks great in our country style kitchen.

We really like this bin. Is pretty sturdy, while being nice enough to have on our counter while we are cooking. I also like that has a removable bin where the bag goes into that comes out. That makes it extremely convenient to take out the food waste, since the compostable bags are usually pretty thin and tend to break if you touch them too much. It also makes it easier to keep the whole thing clean, since you mostly just need to rinse the inside bin to keep it from smelling. Overall we are pretty pleased with it.

Love this bin, totally works as advertised. The size is great and can fit a lot of material. No flies and the smell is contained very well. Easy to use, the lid really does close softly and is easy to remove. I use compost bags with it, it seems easy to clean.

After returning one whose inner metal lid edge warped - I settled on this one, and AM SOOOO PLEASED! It's large - so keep that in mind. Probably the largest one I've seen in my research of them. But it has a feature I wouldn't go without - that plastic, removable insert bucket. There's a video here that one of the commenters did, showing how you can, if you wish, put a plastic bag (I use grocery bags) in that bucket, and tuck/hide the edge inside the white one, for a clean look. Watch that video. It helped me visualize this feature better. Plus, by using the bag, the lid is even more snug against any fruit flies potentially crawling in through the sides (in my opinion). I also love that I can, if I wish, pick the lid up with my pinky, lol. Ya know...sometimes that's the only finger that isn't dirty. :-) The other bin I returned had such a tight fit, that I had to wrestle with it each time I opened it (and I open it a LOT during the day)

Love this compost bin, especially the plastic liner and its attached handle. I read many reviews of many counter top compost bins before settling in on this one. We love it. I cook every day of the week and prep many veggies and fruits along the way. We also use about 3 dozen eggs per week. This bin gets full everyday, sometimes every 2-3 days depending on the weekly menu ingredients. The older boys (9 & 6) or my husband are the main people that take it to the compost to dump. It cleans very easily. We make a point to not let it sit for more than 3-4 days, so the inside doesn't get too gross. We also are sure to wipe any food from the outside at least once a day. *Fruit flies. I see a random one now and then. When the lid is on securely, i think this has helped to minimize them. I also read about it on the internet and we have left an open bottle of apple cider vinegar next to it on the counter to help keep them away. Not sure if it works, but we rarely see them. Empty the bin often, keep the lid on snug, and try the vinegar thing, and this should help to keep the flies away.*Smell- no issues for us at all, the filter must be helping, but I am guessing the frequent emptying of the bin is a big help as well.

Great product - check out my short video review! Larger than my last compost bin, so it takes up more counter space, but it's also nicer looking than other bins - especially if you choose to use a liner (I'll explain that in a bit.)The lid just sits on top, but it creates a pretty good seal, so you don't smell the contents. On my last bin, the lid was to tight that I needed up use two hands to open the bin - much nicer to just pop open the top with one hand, and toss in the "compostables" with the other.I love that there's an inner and outer bucket. The outer bucket stays much cleaner - and it's easy to sponge off if needed. There's a handle on the outer and inner buckets. The outer handle is great for grabbing the bin on the counter and bringing it to my prep stations. The inner handle is great for taking the compost outsideLastly, if you choose to use a liner, you can hide the liner so that your compost bin looks nice - check out my video review (and mark this has helpful if you like it.)
