I use this pan and my cast iron on a weekly basis and love both. I find that my breads get a better rise out of this pan than they do in the cast iron for some reason. maybe because this pan has a smoother texture?? Beats me. This pan is totally nonstick. I make white and wheat bread in it and have never lined or greased it.I was just going to suggest that users only use a silicone spatula in it, but come to think of it, I've ever used any spatula in it. My bread always slides right out. For those spreading a batter or dough into this, they will want to use a silicone spatula though... NEVER metal :)
These pans are without a doubt the most solid, well-built and best performing bread pans I have ever used in my short baking life. Just feeling the heft of these pans tell you they mean business! I baked my first loaves yesterday with these pans and they turned out amazing. I can't recommend these pans more. I think I'll get two more! :)
Love, love, love these bread pans. I bake a lot of sourdough bread (pictured) and had put up with the crazy slanted ends on my glass bread pans for years. I took a chance and bought two of the USA pans - I wish I would have found them years ago. They are so well made and my bread falls right out of the pan after baking. Oh, and the ends (the heel ends) are almost straight so you don't have to cut off a weird wedge to get to a straight piece of bread. Perfect pans!!!
There's not a lot to say about this pan that hasn't already been said. When I took it out of the box, I actually said "wow!". This feels like a product from a bygone age, back when things were made to last. This thing has some serious heft to it. Sure, you can find less expensive bread pans, but not of this quality.
You will never need to buy another bread pan again! This is a professional-grade, heavy duty pan. The corrugated sides and bottom let air circulate during the baking process. The corrugated sides and bottom will not be evident on your finished bread. Although I always use a baking spray, this pan has a long lasting coating for quick release of your newly baked bread. Once I was making several loaves of bread and forgot to prepare the pan but I was further impressed with this pan when the second loaf was released just a easily as the first. This is the pan you will use when your recipe calls for three cups of flour.
I've been baking bread off and on for 40+ years. I was always curious about the 'hollow' sound they would say you should hear when tapping the bottom of the baked bread. Lo and behold, I finally heard it when taking the baked bread from the pan. Seems silly, but I was so happy! This pan is awesome! I got the 9x5 and I will be ordering another one.Bread slid out beautifully and not a spec in the pan. I did not use any kind of spray or oil. I'm in love! Not a spec in the pan so cleaning will be easy peasy.
